Physical Appearance
Garappachi is a gray rat that wears a red hat in the manga. In the anime, he is brown, and no longer wears a hat.
Personality
Garappachi is a poor father trying to make it in horrible conditions. Even though the factory’s pollution has made it more difficult for him to find food, he still works hard to provide for his large family. When Garappachi meets Unico, he is quick to help him and takes him to Chiko, a sickly girl that Garappachi also cares about.

Garappachi introduces Unico to Chiko, and she immediately knows what kind of creature Unico is. Garappachi helps Unico with destroying the factory that was causing the city so much trouble. |
